“Poor oral health in children can create lasting problems including poor performance in school, health related issues and troubles eating and sleeping. We aim to provide accessible, affordable, and compassionate dental care for all children, and most especially for those who may otherwise go without,” said Harold Wallace, Bay Clinic CEO.

The program makes oral health care more accessible for all children — QUEST-insured, uninsured, and privately insured — living in eastern and southern areas of the island.

“Since the start of our Pediatric Dental Program in 2010, we have cared for over 1,200 children and we expect this number to increase as we continue to expand our dental services and outreach,” said Wallace.

With the opening of Ka‘u Family Health and Dental Center last year, Bay Clinic now has three dental centers and a mobile dental van serving the primary and preventative dental care needs of the area. To make a dental appointment for your keiki, call the Bay Clinic dental center nearest you: Hilo Family Dental Center at 333-3600, Keaau Family Health and Dental Center at 930-0415, or the Ka‘u Family Health and Dental Center at 929-7311.
