HONOLULU (AP) — A 56-year-old fisherman continues to be the subject of a search off the Big Island.

The man was fishing from a 10-foot cliff Friday night near Mackenzie State Recreation Area and either slipped into the water or was washed off by a wave.

The Hawaii County Fire Department and the Coast Guard launched a search Friday night by boat and helicopter.

A ground team combed the coast from Pohoiki to Kaimu Beach. Searchers found no trace of the man Saturday or Sunday.

The Coast Guard planned to continue searching Monday by helicopter and by sea with the cutter Kiska.
