The University of Hawaii at Hilo Alumni and Friends Association recently awarded three students its 2014-15 scholarship for $1,500 each to be applied toward their education at UH-Hilo.

The University of Hawaii at Hilo Alumni and Friends Association recently awarded three students its 2014-15 scholarship for $1,500 each to be applied toward their education at UH-Hilo.

Sydney Cabanas is seeking a bachelor of arts degree in political science with a minor in economics. Alexander Guerrero is currently pursuing bachelor’s degrees in Hawaiian studies, anthropology and history, with the intent of enrolling in the master’s and doctorate Indigenous Language and Culture Education programs at UH-Hilo. Ashli Hirai is working on a bachelor of science degree in animal science (pre-veterinary studies) with a minor in biology, in preparation for a doctor of veterinary medicine graduate program.
