The opening workshop, “What Is Dementia,” will review dementia, the symptoms, warning signs, misconceptions and potential treatments.
The movie “A Song for Martin” will be shown at 11 a.m. In this 2011 Swedish movie with English subtitles, two musicians meet and marry, but soon after learn one has Alzheimer’s disease.
At 1 p.m., the topic will be “Challenging Behaviors in Dementia,” covering information on possible causes and types of behaviors that might arise during the course of dementia as well as potential interventions.
