The state Department of Transportation Highways Division has announced the following Big Island roadwork for this week, weather permitting:

The state Department of Transportation Highways Division has announced the following Big Island roadwork for this week, weather permitting:

• On Volcano Highway (Route 11) between Keaau and Mountain View, alternating single-lane closures in both directions between milepost markers 8.6 and 13.4, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. daily, for pavement reconstruction.

• On Hawaii Belt Road (Route 11), at Umauma Bridge, mile marker 16, alternating lane closures in both directions 24 hours a day, seven days a week until further notice, for steel bridge repairs.

Speed limit on Umauma Bridge is reduced to 25 mph and vehicle weight limited to 25 tons. All trucks heavier than 25 tons are to detour on Kauniho Road, Old Mamalahoa Highway and Leopolino Road.

• On Hawaii Belt Road (Route 11) at Laupahoehoe Gulch, alternating single-lane closures in both directions between milepost markers 26 and 27, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. daily, for roadway improvements.

• On Hawaii Belt Road (Route 11) at Kaawalii Gulch, alternating single-lane closures in both directions between milepost markers 27.9 and 29, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, for roadway improvements.
