Kay Kyoko Yokoyama, 88, of Hilo died April 29 at Kuakini Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, she was a retired state psychiatric social worker, award-winning artist, board member of East Hawaii Cultural Council and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. She coordinated the book “Aloha Aina: Big Island Memories,” for EHCC and co-authored “Poets Behind Barbed Wire,” featuring poetry by Japanese internees during World War II.
