A 69-year-old man died Wednesday in a vehicle wreck near Mountain View.
The man was driving in the Hilo direction near mile marker 13 when another vehicle travelling in the Volcano direction collided with his vehicle after crossing the center line, said police Sgt. Christopher Gali.
A woman passenger suffered internal injuries and was transported to Hilo Medical Center, he said.
The man’s hometown was unknown.
The wreck was reported at 1:45 p.m., Gali said.
It was cleared by about 4 p.m., he said.
