Two men whose jetski had stalled and was taking on water off the Hamakua Coast were rescued Saturday by Fire Department personnel.

Eight units, including both county helicopters, responded to the 4:39 p.m. alarm of jetskiers in distress near Paauilo.

One helicopter spotted the two men, who were unable to get out of the ocean and up the cliff. The men were extricated by Fire Rescue personnel. Both men were uninjured.

Fire personnel were unable to take the jetski out of the water, and notified the Coast Guard of the hazard to navigation.
