Director Douglas Wayman and musical director “Quack” Moore will present a stellar cast of local talent to entertain and amaze with the “Footlights” Variety Show today through Sunday at Hilo’s Palace Theater.

The show starts at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday, with a 2:30 p.m. Sunday matinee.

This year’s show is “family friendly” entertainment at its best, featuring music and stand-up comedy, gymnastics, hoop dancing, beat box, and slack key guitar. There are many surprises in store for audiences.

Wayman will make his debut as the show’s director, but is no stranger to the stage.

The talented “Quack,” who created the musical score for this show, will conduct a group of 30 performing artists of all ages that will be sure to put a big smile on audience members’ faces and set their feet tapping.

This year’s fundraising goal is to purchase new energy saving stage lighting.

At present, six new LED lights were installed and the final phase of this project is to purchase the footlights for the Palace stage.

So, buy your tickets now to the “Footlights” Variety Show — there will be plenty of entertainment, and the proceeds help the Palace continue to illuminate some fantastic local talents.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at The Palace Theater Box Office.
