It’s time for Hospice of Hilo’s 10th annual Celebration of Life.

It’s time for Hospice of Hilo’s 10th annual Celebration of Life.

Folks of all ages are invited to walk in honor of a loved one Saturday afternoon and help Hospice of Hilo raise funds for its programs caring for residents of East Hawaii.

The celebration begins at 5 p.m., with a 2.3-mile Walk to Remember, going from the large pavilion, around Wailoa State Park and back.

The walk will be followed by ono food and live music as participants decorate personalized memorial lanterns dedicated to loved ones.

Here’s the entertainment schedule:

• 3:45-4:30 p.m. Ben Kaili.

• 5:15-6 p.m. Doug Espejo and Boni Narito.

• 7-7:45 p.m. Mark Yamanaka, during the luminary launch.

At dusk — about 7 p.m. — watch the lanterns peacefully glide down the Wailoa River as you are serenaded by live music during the Lights of Remembrance.

Registration opens at 3:30 p.m. at the large pavilion. Luminary purchases on event day will be $25 from 3:30-6 p.m., or while supplies last.

Donations to Hospice will be accepted by credit card, cash or check. Individuals raising $100 or more will receive a free event shirt.

There also will be awards for the top three fundraising individuals and teams.
