“Grease,” the lively musical about high school in the 1950s, will be presented by Hilo High School students at 7:30 p.m. this Friday and Saturday and May 2-3, and this Sunday and May 4 at the HHS auditorium.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors.
This ever-popular show, set in “Rydell High,” follows the antics of the lighthearted gangs known as the Pink Ladies and the Burger Boys. At the heart of the story are Sandy and Danny, whose budding romance is complicated by the high school social scene.
The audience will be tempted to sing along to such well-known songs as “We Go Together,” “Summer Lovin’,” and “Greased Lightin’.” The show is produced by HHS’s Performing Arts Learning Center (PALC), and directed by PALC instructor Jackie Seaquist.
The Hilo Community Players (HCP) contributed $500 toward this production, helping underwrite the cost of costumes, such as the Pink Ladies’ outfits.
“That gift was quite a surprise and very much appreciated,” Seaquist said. “We also appreciate that our students have a community theater environment in which to further their experiences as performers and technicians. HCP continues to be a valuable resource for the community, and I look forward to collaborating with them on future projects.”
