The Hawaii Police Department invites the public to its next Kona community meeting from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday at the Kona Police Station.

The Hawaii Police Department invites the public to its next Kona community meeting from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday at the Kona Police Station.

This is a change in date from an earlier announcement about the session.

“The purpose of the meeting is to allow the public to meet the Police Department’s command staff and to discuss concerns with the police chief and commanders who oversee police operations in the Kona District,” explained Capt. Randal Ishii.

“This event continues the district community meetings, which are rotated throughout the eight police districts on the Big Island.”

To aid police commanders in focusing on specific concerns, police request participation be limited to only those persons who live or work in the Kona district.

Those interested in participating but will be unable to attend the meeting Tuesday can email their concerns or comments to copsysop@co.hawaii.hi.us.

For more information, call Ishii at 326-4646, ext. 299, or stop by the Kona Police Station.
