Police have charged a 45-year-old Hilo man with meth trafficking and other drug offenses after serving a search warrant Monday evening on a Waiakea Uka home.

Police have charged a 45-year-old Hilo man with meth trafficking and other drug offenses after serving a search warrant Monday evening on a Waiakea Uka home.

Wesley Kailimai was charged Tuesday with first-degree meth trafficking, second-degree promotion of a detrimental drug, two counts of third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and three counts of possessing drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $301,000.

Vice officers confiscated 84.4 grams of crystal methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $17,500, plus paraphernalia associated with the distribution and use of crystal meth and 30.6 grams of marijuana, according to a written statement by police.

Kailimai remains in the cellblock pending his initial court appearance scheduled for Wednesday.
