A preliminary hearing has been set 22-year-old Captain Cook woman charged with attempted murder for the Mar. 28 shooting of a 26-year-old Honaunau man.

Randi-Keli K. Banagan was ordered Wednesday to appear for a preliminary hearing 10 a.m. Friday in Kona District Court. Her bail was reduced from $498,000 to $250,000, according to court records, because prosecutors didn’t submit probable cause affidavits in a timely manner.

Banagan is accused of shooting a 26-year-old Holualoa man with a rifle after she and the man’s girlfriend allegedly got into an altercation on Waiono Meadows Road, police said.

The victim was treated and released at Kona Community Hospital.

Banagan reportedly drove away after the shooting and was arrested Saturday night in Ocean View.
