On Monday at 6:45 p.m., Kona Criminal Investigations Section detectives charged Randi-Keli K. Banagan with second-degree attempted murder, second-degree assault, first-degree terroristic threatening, seconde-degree reckless endangering, use of a firearm in the commission of a separate felony, three counts of place to keep loaded firearm, three counts of loaded firearm on a public highway, illegal place to keep ammunition, two counts of illegal transfer possession of firearms, two counts of no permit to acquire firearm, two counts of prohibited ownership or possession of a firearm, third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, and drug paraphernalia.
Banagan is accused of shooting a 26-year-old Holualoa man with a rifle after she and the main’s girlfriend allegedly got into an altercation on Waiono Meadows Road, police said.
The victim was treated and released at Kona Community Hospital.
Banagan reportedly drove away after the shooting and was arrested Saturday night in Ocean View.
Bail for Banagan was set at $498,000, and her initial court appearance was scheduled for today.
