Edwin “Dole” Kaunahi Pauole, 80, Kailua-Kona, died March 18 at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Kailua-Kona, he was a bellman at the former Kona Hilton Hotel. He was a crossing guard at the Kealakehe Elementary School, a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1st ward in Kailua-Kona. Private services held. Survived by wife, Rebecca Pauole of Kailua-Kona; daughters Leanda (Joseph) Bernabe of Hilo, Delphine (Paul) Vigilla of Kailua-Kona, Donna Pauole and Edwina Pauole of Kailua-Kona; three grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Rose “Chubby” Marie Hose, 67, died March 16 at her home in Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a retired loss prevention agent for the former Woolworths in Hilo and a stationary guard for various security companies. She was also a member of Thy Word Ministries in Hilo and a member of the Humane Society. Visitation 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Thy Word Ministries in Hilo; Celebration of Life at 6:30 p.m. Aloha and casual attire. No flowers. Survived by husband Clifford Hose, Sr. of Hilo; sons Harry (Ursula) Hose of Hilo and Clifford (Gail) Hose, Jr. of Keaau; daughters Donna (Claudine) Hose of Hilo, Beverly (Alan) Ige of Honolulu, Dinah’s Hose of Honolulu, Jewel (Gene Juan) Hose of Waimea, Maureen (Russell) Hamilton of Hilo and Helen (Kenneth) Rios of Honolulu, brother Dennis James (Barbara) Moniz of Chicago; brother-in-law Roosevelt Young, Jr. of Honolulu, sister-in-law Judy Moniz of Honolulu; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Walter Antone Paresa, 86, died March 8 at his home in Honokaa. Born in Haina, Honokaa, he was a retired supervisor from the former Honokaa Sugar Company and a security guard for the former Freeman Guards Inc. Visitation from 8-10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Urn burial to follow in the church cemetery. Casual attire. Mae Mitsuko Okano, 73, died March 15 at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker and a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Hilo. Friends may call at the Christ Lutheran Church Thursday from 4-5 p.m., where a funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Private committal services will occur at a later date. Casual attire. Survived by husband Charles M. Okano of Keaau; daughter Tricia M. Mitsue Miyaji, 88, died at her home in Pepeekeo on March 15. Born in Kalaoa, Papaikou, she was a homemaker. She was also a member of Hilo Meishoin Mission Kyodan and Fujinkai. Survived by sons Glenn Miyaji of Hilo, Harvey Miyaji of Hilo, and Jarrett (Sheryl) Miyaji of Honolulu; daughter Charlene (Calvin) Mashiba of Hilo; brothers Tom (Faith) Suzuki of Hilo, and Shoji (Myrna) Suzuki of Las Vegas; sister Claudia Y. Charles Hitoshi Koizumi, 92, died at his Hilo home on March 8. Born in Hilo, he was a retired welder with the State of Hawaii. He was also a member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Kyodan, a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, member of the Hilo Interpreters Club MIS, Hiroshima Kenjin Kai, Yamaguchi Kenjin Kai, and the Nikkei Jin Kyokai. Private family services held. The family requests no koden. Survived by wife Michi Koizumi of Hilo; daughter Jane (Gordon) Heit of Hilo; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
