Rose “Chubby” Marie Hose, 67, died March 16 at her home in Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a retired loss prevention agent for the former Woolworths in Hilo and a stationary guard for various security companies. She was also a member of Thy Word Ministries in Hilo and a member of the Humane Society. Walter Antone Paresa, 86, died March 8 at his home in Honokaa. Born in Haina, Honokaa, he was a retired supervisor from the former Honokaa Sugar Company and a security guard for the former Freeman Guards Inc.
