Three Pacific West Conference men’s teams have been selected to play in the West Region of the NCAA Division II men’s basketball tournament: fifth-seeded Cal Baptist, sixth-seeded Dixie State and eighth-seeded Chaminade. Cal Baptist won the PacWest regular season title and Chaminade the tournament title.

Three Pacific West Conference men’s teams have been selected to play in the West Region of the NCAA Division II men’s basketball tournament: fifth-seeded Cal Baptist, sixth-seeded Dixie State and eighth-seeded Chaminade. Cal Baptist won the PacWest regular season title and Chaminade the tournament title.

The West Region will start Friday at host Cal State San Bernardino. In first round games California Baptist will play No. 4 Chico State at 2 p.m., Dixie State will play No. 3 Cal Poly Pomona at noon and Chaminade plays No. 1 Cal State San Bernardino at 4:30 p.m.

The first round winners will play in the regional semifinals Saturday and the regional championship game will be held Monday. The winner advances to the Elite Eight in Evansville, Ind., slated March 27-29.

Conference champion Academy of Art was the only PacWest team to play in the West Region of the women’s tounament.

Seeded seventh, it will play No. 2 Montana State Billings on Friday in Pomona, Calif..

The first round winners will play in the regional semifinals Saturday and the regional championship game on Monday. The winner advances to the Elite Eight in Erie, Pa., scheduled for March 25-28.
