Several opportunities will be offered on the Big Island this month.
Kailua-Kona and Waimea blood drives are scheduled from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday at Solid Rock Ministries; from 11 a.m.-4:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Latter Day Saints Waimea Ward; and from 11:15 a.m.-5:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Latter Day Saints Kona Stake.
Hilo blood drives are slated from 9 a.m.-3:45 p.m. Monday, March 24, in the Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii Campus multi-purpose room; from 7:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, in the Waiakea High School Library; from 9 a.m.-3:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at the Sangha Hall in downtown Hilo; and from 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 27, in the Hilo High School Band Room.
The requirements to be a blood donor are simple:
• Be in good health.
• Be 18 years of age or older (17 with Blood Bank of Hawaii consent form).
• Weigh 110 pounds or more.
• And bring a valid photo ID with date of birth.
Blood Bank officials noted details about the drives are subject to change.
