An unpermitted, unoccupied Nanawale Estates home was destroyed by fire Sunday night.

According to a written Fire Department statement, six units responded to the 8:12 p.m. alarm with the first unit arriving on scene at the corner of Molokai and Alii roads 16 minutes later to find the approximately 1,200-square-foot structure engulfed in flames and partially collapsed. The house collapsed completely as firefighters attempted to extinguish the flames.

The fire was reported under control at 8:50 p.m. and extinguished at 10:05 p.m.

Fire officials estimated the loss at $140,000 with no property saved. Fire inspectors are investigating the cause of the blaze.
