Hawaii Family Dental Centers featured 13 of its dentists in the recent polling of Hawaii’s Best Dentists, as revealed in the February issue of Honolulu Magazine.

The “best dentist” list, a prestigious statewide recognition, is chosen by peer review of dentists and their colleagues. With 13 selected winners, Hawaii Family Dental Centers had the highest representation of any group dental practice in the state.

According to Honolulu Magazine, the best dentist list is created by surveying more than 3,800 licensed general dentists, specialists and referring physicians. Each dentist is allowed to nominate up to the three colleagues in each given dental specialty.

Once the ballots were complete, each nominee was carefully evaluated on the basis of the survey results, the legitimacy of their license and their current standing with the State of Hawaii Dental Board.

The HFDC Best Dentists for 2014 include: Dr. Robert Blair (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery), Dr. Grace Chen (Orthodontics), Dr. Tiffani Dunn (General Dentistry), Dr. Radford Goto (Pediatric Dentistry), Dr. Wendell Hoshino (Orthodontics), Dr. Gerald Meredith (Periodontics), Dr. Michael Pampalon (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery), Dr. Wade Takenishi (General Dentistry), Dr. Ashley Takiguchi (General Dentistry), Dr. Alan Tom (Orthodontics), Dr. Michael Umaki (Periodontics), Dr. Keith Vodzak (Orthodontics) and Dr. Paul Zehngraff (Prosthodontics).

“We are absolutely thrilled with the results,” said John Bower, president of operations at Hawaii Family Dental Centers. “I believe it is testament to the high level of expertise of our dentists and specialists, who work extremely hard to deliver quality care to our patients every day. We certainly applaud their efforts.”

“I think it’s the results of our ongoing initiative to recruit only the best,” he added.

As the largest group practice in the state of Hawaii, the company currently employs a staff of 180 persons, including top dental specialists from around the world.

HFDC has seen steady growth in recent years, serving 34,000 patients per year throughout four islands. Ten dental centers are located across Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island.

Hawaii Family Dental Centers is committed to providing quality, multi-specialty dental care under one roof with excellent customer service and convenient locations.
