LaPaz “Lei” Alcosiba Acidera, 86, of Castro Valley, Calif., formerly of Hilo, died Jan. 25 in California. Born in Papaikou, she was a homemaker who formerly worked as a clerk for the military in Honolulu. She was also a member of the Naalehu Assembly of God Church. Memorial service 3 p.m. Sunday at Naalehu Assembly of God in Naalehu. Survived by niece and hanai daughter, Jermayne (Bruce) Powell of California; sister, Rose Surigao of California; sisters-in-law, Naomi Alcosiba and Connie Alcosiba of Hawaii; three hanai grandchildren and four hanai great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Richard Wayne Palea Mokuohai, 63, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 16 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekau, he was a landscaper. Celebration of life 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1 at Honaunau Beach. Casual attire. Survived by brothers, Francis (Jessica Mano) Mokuohai, Moody Castillo and Jonathan Castillo of Kailua-Kona; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
