A bill regarding permitting authority for geothermal projects was amended Thursday.

The House committees on Energy and Environmental Protection, and Water and Land amended HB 2639 by requiring the state Board of Land and Natural Resources to hold hearings in the community that would be impacted, adding geothermal subzones and allowing for appeals to be heard by the Intermediate Court of Appeals.
