Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and in honor of the romantic holiday, the Tribune-Herald is asking you to share your love story in our annual “How We Met” contest.

Enter to win a variety of prizes just by sharing your tale of tenderness in 40 words or less at www.hawaiitribune-herald.com. Once on the home page, scroll down to Contests and Promotions and click the “How We Met” logo. Make sure to upload a photograph of you and your “one and only” at the time of your submission.

The contest will last through Feb. 14. Make sure to tell all your friends and family to vote for you and your beloved from Feb. 15-21.

Last year, Sam and Renny Simeona won with their following submission:

“We met on a blind date. His friend was dating my friend. The guy who they set me up with did not show up so he stepped in. I’m so glad he did — 15 years later, still happily married.”

The contest is sponsored by Walter’s Electric Inc., Queen’s Court Restaurant in the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, Hilo Kennels &DayCamp, Floral Mart, Bob’s Jewelers, Kadota Liquor and Natural Beauty Spa &Massage.

In order to win, you must be 21 years of age or older at the time of entry. Winners will be notified by email. If a winner is unreachable after seven days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected.

Visit our “rules” section for more details about what it takes to win.
