Kent “Kento” Sadao Hamamoto, 56, of Kurtistown, died Jan. 22 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a supervisor at the Hilo Public Library and member of Soka Gakkai International-USA and United Public Workers. Annette Shizuko (Sugita) Kubojiri, 80, of Keaau, died Jan. 26 at her home. Born in Tokyo, she was retired from the Keaau school cafeteria and a member of Puna Covenant Church. Rapsak Shorey, 34, of Keaau, died Jan. 6 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia, he was a former maintenance worker for the Arc of Hilo. Primotivo “Patrick” Sombrio, 69, of Kaneohe, Oahu, died Jan. 7 at Castle’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Honolulu, he was a musician and played with Germaine’s Luau and also with Arthur Lyman and many other professional entertainers. David Alan Tetz, 60, of Pahoa died Jan. 27 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Champaign, Ill., he was a carpenter and spent much of his life in Glenwood Springs, Colo., Maui and Hawaii Island. Celebration of life Saturday afternoon at Punalu’u Beach Park in Ka’u. Survived by children Adam Tetz of Minnesota, Amanda (Chad) Grove of Minnesota, Jasmine (Brent) Melsa of Minnesota; father, Ronald Tetz of Colorado; sisters, Susan Mason of Montana, Nancy (Mark) Johnson of California; brother Karl (Kathy Bennett) Tetz of Mountain View; companion Judy Egger of Maui; nine grandchildren. Emmajean Campbell Weis, 85, of Frederick, Pa., died Feb. 1 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born in Webster, N.Y., she was a master seamstress, a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Gaithersburg, Pa., a former member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, also in Gaithersburg, and a member of the Clan Campbell Society. Memorial service to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or to a similar charity. Survived by husband Richard Louis Weis; sons David (Joy) Weis, and Randy (Brenda) Weis; brothers John (Arlene) Campbell and Walter (Mary Ann) Campbell; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.
