Individuals are calling people randomly and claiming to be state sheriff’s deputies serving warrants for people who did not show up for jury duty, according to a written statement from the Department of Public Safety. The callers are offering to clear the warrant if people will pay for a product or service.

Sheriffs’s personnel will never call people about warrants having to do with jury duty or solicit the purchase of anything.
