Darlene Robertson, director of professional development at Assets School, will present “The Functions of Working Memory and Executive Control.”
Research shows a high correlation between working memory and success in school. Working memory is the ability of the brain to hold onto facts while actively using the information to do an activity. Weak working memory can impact academic functioning such as math computation, reading comprehension, written expression, following multi step directions, attention and organization/study skills. This presentation will explore the topic of working memory and also its relationship to the executive function process.
