“Safe today; healthy tomorrow” is the theme for Older Americans Month, which is celebrated each year on the Big Island and across the nation. The Hawaii County Office of Aging is inviting nominations of Big Islanders for the Outstanding Older Americans Awards until March 7.

The annual Outstanding Older Americans Awards luncheon will be 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday, May 2. Location and ticket cost will be announced at a later date. Private air-conditioned buses will be provided for transportation to the event, limited to the first 300 who sign up.
