The University of Hawaii at Hilo women’s softball team defeated the alumnae 5-2 in an exhibition game Saturday at the UHH field.
UHH, under coach Jaime Wallin, opens its collegiate season against Western Washington University on Feb. 2, with a doubleheader on Oahu. The Lady Vulcans then play eight teams on an extended mainland road trip before returning home to host Brigham Young University-Hawaii in a noon doubleheader Feb. 22.
