Cliff Masaru Nagayama, 89, died Jan. 3 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Olaa, he was a retired heavy equipment mechanic with the former Puna Sugar Co. and a member of the Church Of World Messianity (Hilo Branch) and the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. Private family services were held. Survived by wife, Yukiko Nagayama of Hilo; step-sons, Garrett (Beverly) Hiraoka of Kapulena, and Len (Charmaine Nakanelua) Hiraoka of Kukuihaele; step-daughter, Charlene Shimabukuro of Hilo; brother, Dennis Nagayama of Kailua, Oahu; brother-in-laws, Samson Simeona of Oahu, and Myron Yanagihara of Oahu; sister-in-law, Rose Nagayama of Hawaii Kai, Oahu; four step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. James Lloyd, 68, died Dec. 24 at his home in Kohala. Born in Maui, he retired as a self-employed Mason. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 25, at Bernice Pauahi Bishop Memorial Chapel, Kamehameha schools. Visitation 9:45-10:45 a.m. Service at 11 a.m. Casual Attire. Interment Monday, Jan. 27, at Punchbowl Cemetery. Military Honors at 10:30 a.m. Aloha attire. Survived by sons, James (Rowena) Lloyd Jr. of Honolulu, Dathan (Nalani) Lloyd of Kohala, Robert (Tamara) Lloyd of Alaska, Benjamin (Staci) Lloyd of Honolulu; brothers, Carl (Frances) Rose of Honolulu, Herbert (Sally) Lloyd of Honolulu; sister, Michele Lloyd of Honolulu; sister-in-law Eliberta Harbottle of Honolulu; 13 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
