Jeffrey Taro Antone, 47, of Kahului, Maui, and formerly of Hilo, died Dec. 3 on Maui. Born in Honolulu, he worked for Leilani’s and Coconut Grill on Maui, and Blaine’s, Osaka and Harrington’s in Hilo. Celebration of life Saturday at Wailoa State Park large pavilion. Visitation from 9-10 a.m. Service at 10 a.m. Luncheon to follow. Survived by aunt, Priscilla “Dolly” Kahele of Hilo; cousin, Phillip (Gizelle) Kahele of Hilo; numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret “Marian” A. De Luz, 80, of Paauilo died Monday at home. Born in Waipunalei, she was a ranch owner for De Luz Ranch and a retired secretary for the state Department of Education. She was also a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa, a former 4-H livestock leader, a former catechism teacher and a former secretary for Hawaii Saddle Club. Visitation from 8-10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Honokaa. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kalopa Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire. Survived by husband, Ernest De Luz of Paauilo; sons, Peter De Luz of Paauilo, Paul (Velma) De Luz of Paauilo and Stephen (Jamie) De Luz of Ahualoa; daughter, Margaret De Luz of California; brother, John (Andrea) Adrian, Jr. of Hilo; sister, Elaine Powers of Waipunalei; brothers-in-law, Rodney Garcia of Pearl City, Oahu, and Jon Bolner of Hilo; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert K. Ahu, Jr., 85, of Keaau died Dec. 28 at Greig’s Foster Care Home. Born in Pahala, he was a retired supervisor for American Electric and formerly worked for Pearl Harbor and Henry Kelii Electric. Visitation from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo. Margaret “Elaine” Froebel, 72, of Volcano died Wednesday at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Galveston, Texas, she was retired from Walmart in Texas. No services. Survived by son, Michael Paul Froebel of Volcano; daughter, Kimberly Ann (Matt) Johnson of Hitchcock, Texas; sisters, Patti Carlson and Carol (Dan) McLeod, both of League City, Texas; three grandchildren. Tsuyako “Nappie” Ebesugawa, 98, of Hilo died Dec. 19 at her home in Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was the proprietress of Ebesu’s Limited. She was a member of the Zonta Club of Hilo, Hilo Woman’s Club, Higashi Hongwanji Fujin Kai, Waiakea Chuo Kumiai, Japanese Community Association and East Hawaii Hiroshima Kenjin Kai. Private services held. No koden. Survived by sisters, Ann H. Kaya of Hilo, Satsuki “Sachi” Ebesugawa of Hilo and Ruby (Dr. Herbert) Maruyama of Denver; sister-in-law, Yaeko Ebesugawa of Hilo; numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. Edward Clayton Carvalho, 54, of Keaau died Jan. 1 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a cook for the state Department of Education and formerly at Kilauea Lodge. Albert Kawaiihoolana Iokepa, Jr., 51, of Honolulu died Dec. 27 in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, he was a U.S. Army and National Guard veteran. He was also the senior operations manager with AMPCO System Parking and an employee of Koko Marian 76 Gas Station. Memorial services Friday at the Exhibition Hall Blaisdell Center on Oahu. James “Jimmy” K. Naito, 88, of Ookala died Dec. 15 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Ookala, he was a retired warehouseman for the former Hamakua Sugar Company. He was also a member of Papaaloa Hongwanji Mission and the Laupahoehoe Senior Center. Private services held.
