Contractors will be working on the traffic signals at the Aupuni Street and Kilauea Avenue intersection Wednesday with alternating single-lane closures in each direction in effect between 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m., weather permitting.

Contractors will be working on the traffic signals at the Aupuni Street and Kilauea Avenue intersection Wednesday with alternating single-lane closures in each direction in effect between 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m., weather permitting.

The intersection will remain open during roadwork.

According to a written statement from county Public Works, wireless detectors will be embedded into the roadway surface to detect vehicles approaching the intersection and program the traffic signal to optimize traffic flow.
