Joe Joseph Frank Lorenzo, Jr., 75, died Dec. 28 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pahala, he was a bookkeeper for J.J. Bookkeeper Services, worked as a clerk for the Department of Human Services (State of Hawaii) and a school crossing Guard for the Waiakeawaena School in Hilo. He also was a Veteran in the U.S. Army and a member of the Hawaii Government Employees Association. Friends may call on Thursday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Visitation from 5-9 p.m. Services at 6 p.m. Casual attire. A graveside service will be held on 9 a.m. Friday at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Survived by wife, Elisa M. Lorenzo of Hilo; daughters, Petra Ann Hagen of Illinois and Denise Lorenzo; sisters, Mary Smith of Florida, Minerva Younth of Pennsylvania and Betty Stanford of Tennessee; stepdaughters, Lariza (Ramil) Rivera of Honolulu, Elena Marcelino of Philippines, Belma (Kevin) Owsley of California, Kalena (Gregg) Quinones of Orange, Calif. and Estelle (Keith) Aoki of Hilo; stepsons, Ronald Marcelino and Levi Mangiboyat of Hilo, Ralf Marcelino of Philippines, Adrian Mangiboyat Jr. of Japan; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. James “Bert” “Mr. B” Andrew Bertilacci, Jr., 71, died Dec. 30 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, he was a retired vice principal at Hilo High School, acting principal at Laupahoehoe High School, vice principal and acting principal at Kau High School, vice principal at Hilo Intermediate School, Athletic Director at Keaau High School and a science and physics teacher and athletic director at Pahoa High School.
