HONOLULU (AP) — Lawmakers and staff members will get a chance to receive training in Native Hawaiian law.
The University of Hawaii law school’s Native Hawaiian law center will provide a free training course on Jan. 11 to lawmakers and staff members of various boards, commissions and councils.
The course is focused on state and county governments’ trust obligations related to Native Hawaiian cultural and natural resources. Subjects will include public land trust and Native Hawaiian ancestral remains.
The Office of Hawaiian Affairs is funding the course.
