Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man captured on surveillance tape about the time an all-terrain vehicle was stolen from a feedlot in the Hamakua District.

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man captured on surveillance tape about the time an all-terrain vehicle was stolen from a feedlot in the Hamakua District.

Sometime between 6 p.m. Nov. 27 and 6:46 a.m. Nov. 28, someone entered a property on the Paauilo cane haul road, damaged a fence, forced open a storage barn and took an ATV, a green 2002 Honda Foreman 500 ES with a front-mounted winch and basket and a crack on the front left fender.

An unknown man with a flashlight was seen on surveillance video Nov. 28 sometime after 4 a.m. He was wearing a ball cap, jacket, shorts and a backpack.

Anyone with the alleged thief’s identity or the whereabouts of the ATV is asked to call the police nonemergency number at 935-3311. Those who prefer anonymity may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
