Gladys Hanako Sakai, 89, of Hilo died Nov. 25 at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Olaa, she worked in the quality control department at the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and was a member of the East Kawailani Kumiai. Private services held. Survived by daughters, Sharon (Clifton) Muraki and Audrey Sakai-Smith, both of Honolulu; sister, Sueno Saruwatari of Pepeekeo; sister-in-law, Natsue Yamanaka of Keaau; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Donald Kalaniopuu Yamada, 82, of Hilo died Dec. 5 at home. Born in Laupahoehoe, he was the retired president for Yamada and Sons. He was also a member of the Hawaii Island Contractors Association. Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the Dodo Mortuary chapel. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Casual attire. No flowers. Survived by sons, Robert Mitsugi (Trudy) Yamada of Hilo, Kelly Lee (Renee) Yamada of Honomu, Weston Kalani Yamada of Pahoa, Curtis Allen Yamada of Hilo and Garry Loo (Nola) Yamada of Keaau; daughter, Donna Kay Miller of Hilo; brother, Ronald (Lei) Yamada of Hilo; brothers-in-law, Richard Chong of Hilo, Theodore (Ke) Kamakea of San Diego, Abraham Mahi of Waimea and Moses Moke of Hilo; 21 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Terry Wilson Seacord , 78, of Waimea, died Dec. 19 at Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Santa Ana, Calif., he was a locksmith, Parker Ranch maintenance worker and an iron worker. Services at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Hosoi Garden Mork. Visitation at 12:30 p.m. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Elaine Seacord; daughter, Debby Seacord Edwards; daughters, Donna Seacord Green and Diana Seacord Rivadeneyra; sisters, Carol Ann Anderson and Jeanne Hancock; brother, Alan Seacord; step-mother, Kathryn Oberschulte; nine grandchildren.

Murray S. McLean, 73, of Hilo died Thursday at home. Born in Fort Wayne, Ind., he was retired from United Airlines. He was also a member of First United Protestant Church in Hilo and a U.S. Army veteran. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Protestant Church, Hilo. Inurnment at the National Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) at a later date. Casual attire. No flowers. Survived by wife, Jane McLean of Hilo; daughter, Marla (Charles) Sabadell of Colorado; son, Mark (Cheryl) McLean of Illinois; sisters, Kathy (Marc) Frank of Ohio, Susie (George) Riecke of Indiana and Julie Armstrong of Indiana; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
