Carol Edith Ganot, 76, of Ahualoa died Dec. 1 at home. Born in Alberta, Canada, she was a Christian minister and missionary for the Salvation Army. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at New Hope Chapel Waimea. Service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be used towards funding re-opening the Salvation Army Waimea. Survived by daughters, Elizabeth Ganot of Ahualoa and Violette (Keith) Brown of San Diego, Calif.; brother, Cliff Ratcliff; sisters, Betty Risto and Helen Lyle all of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Jeffrey “Jeff” Scott McCash, 62, of Spokane, Wash., and Holualoa died Dec. 3 at home. Born in Spokane, he was a mailer for Spokane Print and Mail and a member of the Kona Coffee Council. Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Remembrances may be made in his memory to Hospice of Kona. Survived by companion, Mary Powers of Holualoa; sisters, Cherry Bucholz of Holualoa and Donna (Steve) Barland of Bremerton, Wash.; brother, Blair McCash of Tacoma, Wash.; two aunts, an uncle and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. William “Bill” Lester Nelson, 68, Honalo died Dec. 2 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Hilo, he was a comptroller at the Kona and Waikoloa Hilton Hotels, a former employee at the Ellison Onizuka Space Center and a U.S. Navy veteran. Friends may call at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona for a graveside service. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by daughters, Marie (Derek) Hong of Kailua-Kona and Donna (Mitch) Berdon of Honalo; son, Malcolm Acol of Kailua-Kona; mother, Betty Nelson of Kailua-Kona; brother, Bruce (Marcia) Nelson of Honalo; sister, Toylyn (Rick) Collier of Moses Lake, Wash.; four grandchildren; nephews, a niece, several cousins, aunts and an uncle.
