North Kohala Public Library will celebrate the holiday season with three Monday evening programs in December.

North Kohala Public Library will celebrate the holiday season with three Monday evening programs in December.

On Dec. 2, jewelry artist Sid Nakamoto will demonstrate a simple holiday jewelry design. Materials and assistance will be provided for participants to create their own jewelry piece. He will offer two sessions of the same program, at 2 p.m. and at 6 p.m. Because of the popularity of this jewelry workshop, a limit was placed on the number of participants. Call the library at 889-6655 to register for the afternoon or evening program.

A holiday music concert at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 9 will feature five Kohala musicians playing recorders, guitars and piano. This annual concert is coordinated by flute and recorder instructor Wendy Hindley. She will perform recorder music with her students, Adrienne Cherry, Diana Moriarity and Karen Miller. The program will also include selections by David Gomes on guitar and Adrienne Cherry on piano.

As Christmas Eve anticipation heightens, children’s librarian Leilani Silver will present a family fun night 6:30 p.m. Dec. 23. Children ages 4-9 and their families are invited to enjoy holiday stories, crafts and refreshments.

Admission is free and the entire family is invited to enjoy these holiday activities..

Call the library at 889-6655 for additional information or to request a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation.
