HONOLULU — Brandon Spearman scored 16 points as Hawaii throttled New Orleans for a 91-58 win Wednesday night.

Hawaii (4-2) went on a 12-0 run to take a 30-17 lead in the first half, and New Orleans never threatened after that.

Halftime didn’t change much for New Orleans (1-3), and the Rainbow Warriors ripped off a 22-5 run to start the second half, pushing their lead to 61-31 with 11:29 to play.

Hawaii dominated the paint, outscoring the Privateers 40-18 and outrebounding them 57-28.

Christian Standhardiner scored 13 points to go with his 12 rebounds while Keith Shamburger added 11 points and six assists. Fourteen different players saw the floor for the Rainbow Warriors.

Isaac Mack led New Orleans with 14 points, but he shot only 4 of 13. The Privateers shot an abysmal 27.6 percent from the field and an even worse 21.1 percent from 3-point range.
