The nonprofit Indian Classical Music Circle will present its next Afternoon Ragas House Concert with Parashuram Bhandari on sarangi and Joe Fajen on tabla at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, at a private home near Kehena Beach, Pahoa.

The nonprofit Indian Classical Music Circle will present its next Afternoon Ragas House Concert with Parashuram Bhandari on sarangi and Joe Fajen on tabla at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, at a private home near Kehena Beach, Pahoa.

Bhandari is Nepal’s foremost exponent of classical sarangi, a strange and ancient form of the violin with 38 strings. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Fajen studied tabla with Zakir Hussain and Swapan Chaudury, and performed with Simrit Kaur, JaiDev Singh and Jaya Lakshmi.
