Donald “Don Tiki” James Butcher, 63, of Keaau, and formerly of Kauai and Oahu, died Oct. 14 at his residence. Alan Isamu Doi, 65, of Hilo died Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Queens Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired staff sergeant of the Air National Guard 291st Combat Communications Squadron, rooster member of Hilo Jaycees, University Heights Kumiai, and New Hope Christian Fellowship. Matsuko Matsumura, 89, of Hilo died at the Life Care Center of Hilo on Friday, Oct. 4. Born in Kalaoa, Papaikou, she was the co-owner of the former Matsumura Poultry & Anthurium Farm. She was also a member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Kyodan and Buddhist Women’s Association.
