The Hawaii Island United Way will present “An Evening in Paradise,” a food and wine extravaganza, from 6-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows’ Hale Hoaloha Pavilion. Featured will be gourmet fare prepared by 20 of Hawaii Island’s finest chefs, spirits, desserts and entertainment by Keahi Conjugacion. At left, executive director Jeanine Atebara and Kelcie Kohara display several of the 70-plus silent auction items, including a pre-owned four-door 2002 Ford Taurus SE sedan, and the special-event cookbook featuring Mayor Billy Kenoi that will also be on sale.
