Todd Nishimura was honored as the 2013 Waiakea Pirate of the Year at the organization’s annual banquet. Nishimura is a volunteer coach for the Pirates’ girls 14 and under American Softball Association team as well as a fundraising coordinator.

Youth baseball coach and coordinator Kent Ouchi was presented with the first perpetual Coach of the Year, presented in honor of the late Richard Nakamura. Ouchi has been a youth league coach for 27 years.
In addition, Len Shimabukuro was installed as the organization’s president.
