The Kamehameha boys volleyball team is hosting an “All Day, All Night, All Volleyball” camp for boys and girls.
The camps at Koaia Gym in Keaau will be held June 2-6 for high school students and June 3-6 for for elementary and middle school students (grades 2-8).
The middle school camp runs 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. each day and costs $95. Participants may bring their own lunch or may purchase lunch at the camp. Early Bird Check-in begins at 8 a.m.
The high school camp is a sleepover camp and starts June 2 with a 3 p.m. check-in. The head clinician will be Warriors coach Guy Enriques.
According to a release, “The major focus for day campers are the development of basic volleyball skills (communication, ball control, teamwork, etc.) and will include lots of mini-games and tournaments. Having fun and developing a passion for the game is the overall goal. For high school players the emphasis is on advanced skill development through competitive drills, coaching techniques and game-like competition. Communication and teamwork are a major focus.”

Special Olympics
golf seasons to start
The Special Olympics East Hawaii golf season will begin May 31 and practice will continue every Friday through Aug. 23. A golf tournament will be scheduled for the end of the season.
All Special Olympic athletes may sign up online at www.info@golftreasures.net.
Registration is also available at Golf Treasures, 37c Lono St. in Hilo.

Abreu is all-PacWest
2nd-team shortstop
University of Hawaii at Hilo senior shortstop John Abreu was named second-team all-Pacific West Conference baseball.
A native of Waipahu, Oahu, Abreu belted a team-leading 48 hits and his .322 average was second-best on the Vulcans. Abreu’s 18 runs scored and .409 slugging percentage were second on the club as well.
Youth wrestling
slated for Waimea
The Department of Parks and Recreation will hold free youth wrestling for students in grades kindergarten through fifth grad beginning June 4 at Waimea Community Center.
Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
