This summer the University of Hawaii at Hilo offers three different one-week environmental day camps for Hawaii Island high school students. The application deadline is May 17.

East Hawaii students entering grades 9-12 this fall are encouraged to apply for the 2013 Manowai o Hanakahi summer program. This year’s program focuses on exposure to Hawaii’s regions while participants develop skills used in data collection for ecological monitoring, spatial analysis and data visualization. Applicants can select from sessions on Mauna Kea, Kilauea and ocean tidepools
