Gender-based violence — including its ramifications and the local resources available to help — will be the focus of a special panel discussion at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
Panelists will include Dale Ross of the Hawaii County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney; Heidi Koop, director of Hawaii Island Child and Family Services; Sulma Ghandi, UH-Hilo director of health and wellness, and Andrew Polloi of Men of Strength. Retired Hawaii County Prosecutor Charlene Iboshi will be a special guest.
This event is sponsored by the UH-Hilo Women’s Center, the UH-Hilo Women’s Studies Program and the Hilo branch of the American Association of University Women. It will be held in the new Science and Technology Building from 4:30 to 6 p.m. To access the building, please use the Lanikaula Street entrance. Parking in the building’s lot and on the street will be free after 4 p.m.
