Kamehameha-Hawaii’s inexperience showed, especially with a wobbly defensive first half, in the first round at the Division I state basketball tournament.

Mililani led by 23 points at halftime and beat the Warriors 84-68 in the Hawaii High School Athletic Association tournament Wednesday at Moanalua High on Oahu.

Ian Namu scored 25 points and Noel Bueno added 18 for the Trojans (11-4), the Oahu Interscholastic Association’s No. 5 team.

Shaun Kagawa scored 25 points to lead the Warriors (10-6), who trailed 51-28 at halftime. Laa Manliguis added 11 points while Micah Carter and Pukana Vincent had 10 apiece for the Big Island Interscholastic Federation runner-up.

Kamehameha plays the Punahou-Farrington loser at 3 p.m. today in consolation action.

BIIF champion Konawaena (12-0) plays the Moanalua-Pearl City winner at 5 p.m. today at McKinley High School’s Gym.
