Police request the public’s assistance in finding a 21-year-old Hilo man wanted for questioning in recent burglaries that have occurred in the Kaumana area, as well as on outstanding warrants.

Police request the public’s assistance in finding a 21-year-old Hilo man wanted for questioning in recent burglaries that have occurred in the Kaumana area, as well as on outstanding warrants.

Kyson Kaleiwahea is described as 5-foot-8, 150 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. He has tattoos behind his neck, left leg and lower back. Kaleiwahea is believed to be in the Kaumana or Piihonua areas.

Police say there have been recent burglaries in the upper Kaumana and Piihonua areas in the late afternoon and evening hours, involving a man on foot who claims to be looking for a lost puppy when confronted.

Anyone with information on Kaleiwahea’s whereabouts to call the police non-emergency line at 935-3311. Those who prefer anonymity may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
