Auburn’s Dominic Bozzelli carded a 5-under 67 on Friday at Waikoloa Beach Resort’s Kings’ Course to take medalist honors at the Amer Ari Invitational.

Oregon State’s David Fink, an Iolani School graduate, and Washington’s Trevor Simsby each shot 69 and tied for second two shots back.

Fourth-ranked UCLA and No. 7 Washington were crowned co-champions after finishing at 22-under 842.

Daylen Yamauchi led the charge for the University of Hawaii at Hilo, carding a 70 to finish in a tie for 42nd at 1-over. The Vulcans, one of only two Division II teams in the strong field of 20, finished 18th at 891.

The University of Hawaii was another 11 shots back in 19th. Hilo’s Nainoa Calip led the Warriors at 6-over in a tie for 76th.

Also for the Vulcans, Kyeton Littel (73) finished at 7-over; Corey Kozuma (78) was 8-over; Chris Shimomura (79) 9-over; Ric Yamamoto (77) 11-over; Christian Agosto (82) 13-over; Jamie Hall (79) 15-over; James Horton (77) 17-over; and Jay Heglund (78) 24-over.

Alliance workshop

The Department of Parks and Recreation and the Positive Coaching Alliance will hold a coaching workshop from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Aunty Sally’s Luau House.
