Girls hoops league, clinic in Waimea

The Parks & Recreation Division in Waimea will be holding registration and clinics for girls basketball, age groups 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14.

Registration runs Feb. 19 through March 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Waimea Community Center or on clinic days.

A league will run Monday and Wednesday, April 1 to May 8 at various gyms.

The clinics will be held March 4 & 6 at Thelma Parker Gym. Ages 9-10 will participate from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and ages 11 to 14 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

VAC to feature baseball, softball

The Vulcan Athletic Club luncheon has been rescheduled to noon today at the Naniloa Hotel Palm Lounge.

Guest speakers will be baseball and softball.

volleyball tryouts

Tryouts for the Waiakea High School junior varsity and varsity boys volleyball teams will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11 at the Warriors Gym. Completed physical and parent authorization forms must be turned in prior to participating in tryouts.

girls VB head coach

Waiakea High School Athletics is accepting applications for a varsity girls volleyball head coach for the 2013-14 school year. Applications may be picked up at the Waiakea High office, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m Monday through Friday.

Application deadline is 4 p.m. Feb. 28. If you have any questions, call Waiakea Athletic Director Tom Correa at 974-4830.
