Police said Monday morning that an autopsy identified a body found Jan. 22 off “Tree Planting Road” in the Stainback Highway area south of Hilo as that of 44-year-old Dante Peter Gilman of Hawaiian Acres.

Police earlier this month reported that Gilman had been missing since about Dec. 30, and later said they had evidence that Gilman was murdered in his home.

Two cousins from Kurtistown, 30-year-old Claude Keone Krause and 19-year-old Kawena K. Krause, have been charged with second-degree murder.

More details will appear in the Tuesday edition of the Tribune-Herald.
